Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je analyzovat a porovnat překlady dvou skupin překladatelů – online strojových překladačů a studentů. V první části práce je představen strojový překlad a témata s ním související, např. vyhodnocování kvality strojového překladu nebo post-editing. Druhá část práce analyzuje a porovnává jednotlivé překlady. Podobným tématem se zabývaly autorky Rebecca Fiederer a Sharon O’Brien a na základě jejich výzkumu byly pro účely této analýzy vytvořeny čtyři kategorie – přesnost, srozumitelnost, styl a originalita. Práce analyzuje překlady v těchto kategoriích a porovnává výsledky tohoto hodnocení.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze and compare translations produced by two groups of translators – online machine translators and students. In the first part, machine translation is introduced as well as topics connected to it, such as machine translation quality evaluation or post-editing. The second part of the thesis analyses and compares the translations. Drawing inspiration from previous research conducted by Rebecca Fiederer and Sharon O’Brien, four categories were designed for the purposes of this analysis – accuracy, intelligibility, style, and originality. The translations are evaluated in these categories and the results are compared.
