Population analysis of settlements on old maps
Abstract:
V této diplomové práci se pokoušíme najít souvislost mezi výskytem sídel na mapách a jejich počtem obyvatel. Nalezenou souvislost poté aplikujeme na staré mapy našeho území, abychom zjistili přibližný počet obyvatel sídel, které se na nich vyskytují. Práce může vést k cenným informacím o počtu obyvatel sídel z dob, kdy k těmto údajům neexistují žádné další prameny.
Abstract:
This thesis deals with a relation between occurances of settlements in the maps and their population. The discovered relation is then applied to ancient maps of our country to find out an approximate population of the settlements that occur in them. The thesis can help to find out valuable data about the population of the settlements from the time when no sources provided this information.
