Tendency Elements in Intentional Reading for Beginning Readers in the 1950s

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá intencionální literaturou pro děti a mládež v 50. letech 20. století. V kontextu tuzemského literárního vývoje zkoumá literaturu určenou začínajícím čtenářům, tedy žákům národních škol. Hlavním cílem práce je zjistit, pomocí jakých mechanismů se socialistická ideologie propisovala do literatury pro děti a mládež a jakým způsobem skrze ni probíhalo utváření nového socialistického člověka. Dále se práce zabývá proměnou funkcí literatury v budovatelském období skrze analýzu a interpretaci vybraných dobových pramenů z hlediska tematického a stylistického schematismu.

Abstract:

The master's thesis deals with intentional literature for children and youth in the 1950s. In the context of domestic literary development, it examines literature intended for beginning readers, i.e. pupils of public schools. The main aims of the thesis are to find out which mechanisms were used for the inscription of socialist ideology in literature for children and youth and how was the idea of the new socialist man carried through it. Furthermore, the thesis examines the transformation of functions of literature in the socialist propaganda period through the analysis and interpretation of selected period sources in terms of thematic and stylistic schematism.
