Integration of workers with hearing impairment in Czech organisations

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem integrace jedinců s postižením sluchu na pracovišti v České republice. Hlavním cílem je prozkoumat výzvy a příležitosti pro neslyšící zaměstnance a jejich zaměstnavatele a poskytnout doporučení pro zlepšení integrace na pracovišti. V teoretické části práce jsou metodou literární rešerše shrnuty informace související s vybraným tématem. Pozornost je věnována jak osobám se sluchovým postižením, tak i specifikám jejich zaměstnání a pracovní integrace. Praktická část se zaměřuje na zmapování poznatků o současném stavu v dané oblasti. V této části je realizován kvalitativní výzkum metodou strukturovaného rozhovoru se zapojením českých firem a organizací zacílených na poskytování pomoci osobám s poruchou sluchu. Jeho výsledky ukazují, že komunikační aspekty zůstávají hlavní bariérou na cestě k efektivnější integraci pracovníků v českých firmách. Zároveň stále existují obavy zaměstnavatelů ze zaměstnávání pracovníků z této skupiny, a to v důsledku existence předsudků a nedostatečné informovanosti o výhodách jejich zaměstnávání.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of integration of individuals with hearing impairment in the workplace in the Czech Republic. The main aim is to explore the challenges and opportunities for deaf employees and their employers and to provide recommendations for improving integration in the workplace. In the theoretical part of the thesis, information related to the selected topic is summarized using the literature search method. Attention is paid to both people with hearing impairments and the specifics of their employment and work integration. The practical part focuses on mapping knowledge about the current state of the area in question. In this part, qualitative research is carried out using the method of structured interviews with the participation of Czech companies and organisations focused on assisting people with hearing impairment. Its results show that communication aspects remain a significant barrier to more effective integration of workers in Czech companies. At the same time, there are still concerns among employers about the employment of workers from this group due to prejudices and lack of information about the benefits of their employment.
