Postconflict reconstruction and economy in Rwanda

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá postkonfliktní rekonstrukcí ve Rwandě a odpovídá na otázku, jakým způsobem se Rwanda stala jednou z nejrychleji rostoucích ekonomik na africkém kontinentě. V práci se zaměřuji na národní aktéry, kteří se angažovali v postkonfliktní rekonstrukci a přijali nové politiky vedoucí k rozvoji, ale také na roli mezinárodních aktérů. V neposlední řadě charakterizuji vývoj ve Rwandě po rekonstrukci, její perspektivní obory vhodné ke spolupráci a na základě tohoto zjištění navrhuji možnou spolupráci s Českou republikou.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the post-conflict reconstruction in Rwanda and answers the question of how Rwanda became one of the fastest growing economies in the African continent. The thesis deals with the national actors, involved in post-conflict reconstruction and adopting new development policies, as well as the role of international actors. Last but not least, I characterize the development in Rwanda after the reconstruction, its perspective areas suitable for cooperation and on the basis of these findings I suggest possible cooperation with the Czech Republic.
