Impacts of suburbanization on local spatiotemporal rhythms

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá časoprostorovými vzorci, které se realizují v každodenním životě původních a nově přistěhovalých obyvatel v obcích Bystřice a Vendryně v okrese Frýdek-Místek. Hlavní část diplomové práce je zaměřena na prozkoumání vlivu rezidenční suburbanizace na časoprostorové rytmy suburbanizovaných obcí. V analytické části je proto kladen důraz na objasnění rytmů zvlášť původních a nově přistěhovalých obyvatel. Značný prostor je následně věnován porovnáním těchto rytmů a zasazením do kontextu komparací s předchozími výzkumy, jež se tímto tématem zabývaly v jiných regionech. Analýza těchto rytmů byla provedena na základě semistrukturovaných rozhovorů. Kostra výzkumu se tedy opírá o osobní zkušenosti vybraných skupin obyvatel v suburbanizovaných obcích. Část práce se věnuje také hodnocení dopadů a vlivu suburbanizace do dalších aspektů fungování obce, jimiž se rozumí doprava, školství nebo vybavenost obce. Výsledky práce poukazují na složitost časoprostorového chování obou skupin obyvatel a koexistenci různých rytmů, jež se více či méně prolínají napříč skupinami, popřípadě jsou realizovány pouze původními obyvateli, a nebo naopak novými rezidenty.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with spatio-temporal patterns that enforce in everyday life of original inhabitants and new residents living in municipalities of Bystřice and Vendryně in Frýdek-Místek district. The main part of the thesis focuses on exploring the impact of residential suburbanization on the spatio-temporal rhythms of suburbanized villages. Therefore the analytic part emphasis on clarifying the rhythms of original inhabitants and new residents. Subsequently, a great deal of space is devoted to comparing these rhythms and placing them in the context of previous research that has addressed this topic in other regions. To achieve the results semi-structured interviews were used. Part of the thesis is also devoted to assessing the impact and influence of suburbanization on other aspects of the functioning of the municipality, understood as transport, education and community amenities. The results of the work point to the complexity of the spatio-temporal behaviour of both groups of inhabitants and the coexistence of different rhythms, which are more or less intertwined across the groups or are realized only by the original inhabitants or, on the contrary, by the new residents.
