Causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict after the Second World War. Cause analysis

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá příčinami izraelsko-palestinského konfliktu, který vznikl po druhé světové válce. Tyto příčiny analyzuji na předem stanovených hladinách analýzy. Na hladinách jsem vždy zvolila několik aktérů a analyzovala jejich dopad na konflikt. Cílem práce bylo prokázat, že na vznik izraelsko-palestinského konfliktu mělo vliv hned několik událostí a aktérů. V první kapitole vysvětluji roli hladin analýzy v mezinárodních vztazích a jejich využití v této práci. Další kapitola se již zabývá příčinami izraelsko-palestinského konfliktu na úrovni mezinárodního systému, kde zkoumám Společnost národů, Organizaci spojených národů a jejich roli v mezinárodním uspořádání. Třetí kapitola se zabývá příčinami konfliktu na úrovni mezinárodního subsystému. V této kapitole se zabývám Ligou arabských států, teritoriálně koherentním systémem států Blízkého východu. V následující kapitole zkoumám příčiny konfliktu na úrovni jednotek (států), zejména zkoumám politiku Velké Británie a Spojených států amerických vůči Palestině. Navazující kapitola se věnuje podjednotkám a jejich vlivu na konflikt, analyzováno je sionistické hnutí, arabské nacionalistické hnutí a sociální a politické změny v Německu. Poslední kapitola se věnuje vlivu jednotlivců na konflikt. Zde je věnována pozornost Arthuru Balfourovi, Amínu al-Husajní a Menachemu Beginovi.

Abstract:

This Bachelor's thesis deals with the causes of Israeli-Palestinian conflict that emerged after the Second World War. The causes of the conflict are analysed with the use of the levels of analysis. The goal of this thesis was to prove that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was caused by multiple causes and actors. I have chosen some of the most important ones and I analysed the impact they had on the conflict. In the first chapter, I am explaining the role of the levels of analysis in international relations and their use in this thesis. The next chapter already deals with the causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at the level of international system, where I examine the organisations the League of Nations and the United Nations and their roles in the international order. The third chapter deals with the causes of the conflict at the level of international subsystem. In this chapter, I am occupied with the League of Arab States, a teritorially coherent system of states of the Middle East. In the following chapter, I explore the causes of the conflict at the level of units (states), specifically I examine the policies of the Great Britain and the United states of America towards Palestine. The next fifth chapter deals with the subunits and their impact on the conflict, analysed is the Zionist movement, Arab nationalist movement and the social and political changes in Germany. The last final chapter covers the impact of the individuals on the conflict. Particular attention is paid to Arthur Balfour, Amin al-Husseini and Menachem Begin.
