Alzheimer's disease through the eyes of family members

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem "Alzheimerova choroba očima rodinných příslušníků" se zabývá péčí o rodinné příbuzné s Alzheimerovou chorobou v domácím prostředí. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části - teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části se snažíme přiblížit čtenářům tento typ demence, její symptomy a příznaky. Dále se zabýváme způsobem léčby, správnou komunikací a nabídkou sociálních služeb. V praktické části se zaměřujeme na konkrétní případy rodin a rodinných příslušníků, kteří pečují o svého blízkého s diagnostikou Alzheimerovy choroby v prostředí svého domova. Cílem je zjistit, jaké změny v rodině nastaly a jaké konkrétní oblasti tato nemoc postihla. Dílčím cílem je dále objasnit, zda-li je péče rozdělena mezi všechny členy rodiny a jakým způsobem poznamenala nemoc jejich vnitřní vztahy.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis titled "Alzheimer's disease through the eyes of family members", deals with the care of family relatives with Alzheimer's at home. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, we try to explain the readers what is exactly this type of dementia about, its symptoms and signs. We also focused on the manner of treatment, appropriate communication and a range of social services. In the practical part, we concentrate on the real cases of families and family members who look after their loved one in their home environment. The goal of this thesis is to determine what changes have occurred in the family and what specific areas have been affected by the disease. Partial aim is to further clarify whether the care is divided among all family members and how the disease has affected the relationship between individual family members.
