Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce studuje účinek rozšířeného čtení na studenty základní školy. Práce vysvětluje, jak rozšířené čtení působí na jazykové schopnosti a motivaci studentů. Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na důležitost propojení rozšířeného čtení se čtením pro radost, plynulým čtením a čtením pro obecné pochopení. V teoretické části je podrobně vysvětlen pojem rozšířeného čtení. Především jsem se zaměřila na jeho význam a jeho vliv na různé jazykové oblasti. Pokusila jsem se najít nejvhodnější a nejefektivnější metody, jak začlenit rozšířené čtení do výuky a jak podnítit studenty, aby četli rozšířeně. V praktické části tého práce jsem se zabývala vytvořením a začleněním programu rozšířeného čtení do školy, ve které učím. Cílem výzkumu bylo analyzovat data získaná z testů, ve kterých byla měřena rychlost čtení, schopnost pochopení textu, jazyková dovednost a znalost slovní zásoby studentů před a po začlenění programu rozšířeného čtení a tímto dokázat, že rozšířené čtení má pozitivní a silný vliv na učení jazyků.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis studies the impact of extensive reading on primary school learners of English. The work explains that extensive reading influences positively both language skills and students' motivation. The bachelor thesis is focused on the importance of connecting extensive reading with reading for pleasure, fluent reading and reading for general understanding. In the theoretical part, the term extensive reading is explained in detail. Above all I focused on the value of extensive reading and its impact on various language areas. I tried to find the most suitable and efficient methods to include extensive reading in the language classroom to encourage learners to read extensively. In the practical part of this thesis, I dealt with creating and including an extensive reading programme in the school where I teach. The aim of my reaserch was to analyze data obtained from the tests where students' reading rates, reading comprehension, language proficiency and vocabulary knowledge were measured before and after the extensive reading programme and thus to prove that extensive reading has a positive and powerful effect on learning language.
