Transgender pupils and students from the perspective of educators

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na zmapování problematiky transgenderu ve školství, a to pohledem pedagogů základních, středních a vysokých škol. Práce vychází z vymezení potřebných pojmů týkajících se transgenderu, užitých také v kontextu procesu vzdělávání.  Zmapována je také historie této problematiky, a to i z pohledu veřejného mínění. Na základě kvalitativního výzkumu technikou rozhovorů s vyučujícími bylo zjišťováno, jak se k problematice transgenderu staví a jaké postoje vůči transgender žákům a studentům zaujímají, dále jakou osobní zkušenost s danou problematikou mají a také jakým způsobem s tématem pracují ve výuce. Analýza a interpretace rozhovorů byla využita k návrhům na opatření, vycházejících z nejpodstatnějších příkladů dobré praxe identifikovaných v rozhovorech.  Z výzkumného šetření vyplývá, že jsou trangender žáci a studenti přijímáni a akceptováni ve školských zařízeních a mezi pedagogy, kteří již mají s přítomností zkušenost, převažují kladné postoje. Tyto kladné postoje se dále pozitivně promítají ve specifikách práce s těmito jedinci, kdy se právě pedagogický sbor snaží vyjít co nejvíce vstříc jejich požadavkům, aby i těmto žákům a studentům bylo umožněno stejně kvalitní vzdělání jako ostatním vrstevníkům.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis focuses on mapping the issue of transgender in education, from the perspective of primary, secondary and university teachers. The work is based on the definition of the necessary terms related to the transgender, also used in the context of the educational process. The history of this issue will also be mapped, even from the point of view of public opinion. Based on qualitative research using the technique of interviews with teachers, it will be found out how they approach the issue of transgender and what attitudes they have towards transgender pupils and students, what personal experience they have with the issue and how they work with the topic in teaching. The analysis and interpretation of the interviews will be used to propose measures based on the most relevant examples of good practice identified in the interviews. The research survey shows that trangender pupils and students are accepted and accepted in school facilities and positive attitudes prevail among teachers who already have experience with the present. These positive attitudes are also positively reflected in the specifics of working with these individuals, where the teaching staff tries to meet their requirements as much as possible, so that these pupils and students can be given the same quality education as other peers.
