Nutrition, Diet and Lifestyle before Blood Donation

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá informovaností dárců v oblasti výživy, stravování před odbě-rem a životním stylem vybraných dárců. Cílem je porovnat výsledky zjištěných dat od dár-ců ze dvou transfuzních stanic, porovnání počtů chylosních odběrů a odběrů s vyššími hodnotami jaterních transamináz. V teoretické části jsou definovány pojmy vztahující se k výživě a životnímu stylu. Dále je nastíněna výživa - hlavní živiny, které by měla naše strava obsahovat, jejich poměr a pitný režim. V této práci je zahrnut i životní styl a jeho hlavní aspekty. V souvislosti s praktickou částí jsou v této studii zmíněny i laboratorní vyšetření související s dárcovstvím. Studie byla vypracována ve spolupráci s Hematologicko-transfuzním oddělením Krajské nemocnice Tomáše Bati, a. s. a Hematologicko-transfuzním oddělením Nemocnice Vsetín. V praktické části byla v průzkumu použita metodika dotazníkového šetření. Respondentům - dárcům krve bylo rozdáno celkem 60 dotazníků. Tyto dotazníky vyplnilo celkem 8 žen a 47 mužů. Z vyplněných dotazníků se zjistilo, že na Hematologicko-transfuzním oddělení Krajské nemocnice Tomáše Bati a. s. bylo o výživě před odběrem krve správně informováno 58% respondentů. Na Hematologicko-transfuzním oddělení Nemocnice Vsetín bylo o výživě před odběrem u dárce krve správně informováno 86% respondentů. Výstupem práce je vytvoření informačního zdroje - letáčku, informujícího o potravinách doporučovaných - zejména potravin bohatých na železo, nedoporučovaných a zakázaných před odběrem u dárce krve.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on blood donors? lifestyle and how well informed they are about nutrition and diet before blood donation. The purpose of this study is to compare obtained donors? data results from two transfusion stations, to compare the number of chy-lous takes and the number of takes with the higher level of liver transaminases. Theoretical part contains definitions related to nutrition and lifestyle. Types of nutrients, their optimal ratio in our food and drinking regime are discussed also with lifestyle and its main aspects. Regarding the practical part, laboratory tests connected to blood donation are also mentioned. This study was conducted in cooperation with Haematology and Blood Transfusion Department of Tomas Bata Regional Hospital in Zlin corp. and Haematology and Blood Transfusion Department of Vsetin Hospital. In the practical part questionnaires were used for the purpose of this research. Respondents (blood donors) were given 60 questionnaires. The total number of respondents was 55- 8 women and 47 men. Survey revealed that 58% respondents of Transfusion Department of Tomas Bata Regional Hospital in Zlin corp. were well informed about nutrition before blood donation. The percentage of well informed respondents of Haematology and Blood Transfusion Department of Vsetin Hospital was 86%. As a result of this study a leaflet that informs donors about suitable nutrition before blood donation was created. It includes information about what food is recommended (especially food rich in iron), what is not appropriate and what food is not allowed at all.
