Strategic behavior of the firm

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na behaviorální aspekty strategického rozhodování firem a zkoumá je v kontextu deregulace letecké dopravy v USA v roce 1978. První část práce přibližuje teoretická východiska věnující se behaviorálnímu strategickému managementu, zejména modelům učení se ze zpětné vazby na výkon, a uvedení do historického kontextu deregulačního období. V druhé části práce je uveden popis použité metodologie, tj. regresní analýzy a výsledky ve formě osmi regresních modelů, které jsou závěrem interpretovány a konfrontovány se současnými výzkumnými poznatky.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the behavioural aspects of corporate strategic decision making and examines them in the context of the deregulation of air travel in the US in 1978. The first part presents the theoretical background on behavioural strategic management, particularly models of learning from performance feedback, and an introduction to the historical context of the deregulation period. The second part describes the methodology used, i.e., regression analysis, and presents the results in the form of eight regression models, which are finally interpreted and compared with current research findings.
