Industrial heritage as part of resocialization of areas affected by lignite mining in Germany

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou restrukturalizace a resocializace oblastí dotčených těžbou hnědého uhlí. V úvodu teoretické části práce je uveden přehled hnědouhelných revírů v SRN, dále jsou nastíněny rozdílné rámcové podmínky rozvoje porýnského revíru a revírů v tzv. nových spolkových zemích, tedy lužického a středoněmeckého revíru, na něž se práce následně zaměřuje. Práce popisuje strukturu a právní rámec financování a organizace sanace a rekultivací území a socioekonomické důsledky rekultivací. V závěru teoretické části jsou rozvedeny možnosti uplatnění industriální kultury v tomto procesu, se zaměřením na využití industriální kultury v cestovním ruchu, a jsou zde popsány hlavní iniciativy, které tomuto rozvoji napomohly. Praktická část obsahuje tipy a informace o vybraných industriálních památkách v lužickém a středoněmeckém revíru spojených s těžbou hnědého uhlí určené pro turisty z České republiky.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of restoration and social regeneration of areas affected by lignite mining. The theoretical part of the thesis starts with an overview of mining sites in Germany, then, it describes different framework conditions of development of the Rhineland lignite-mining region and the mining regions in the new federal states of Germany, i.e. Lusatia and Central Germany the thesis focuses on. Furthermore, the thesis describes the structure and legal framework of funding and organization of restoration and rehabilitation of post-mining landscapes and the socio-economic consequences of this process. Finally, the theoretical part deals with the options to use industrial heritage in the process of restructuring, focusing on the use of former industrial sites in tourism. After that, the thesis deals with main initiatives that have supported development of former mining areas. The practical part contains information on selected industrial monuments in Lusatia and Central Germany related to lignite mining intended for Czech tourists.
