Application of general nurses in the army of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na historii ošetřovatelství, dále na uplatnění všeobecných sester v Armádě České republiky a jejich motivaci ke vstupu do AČR. V první části se práce zaměřuje na historii ošetřovatelství. Praktická část je zaměřena na motivaci všeobecných sester. Cílem práce je zhodnotit, jak jsou všeobecné sestry v Armádě České republiky motivovány a jaká další motivace by mohla napomoct k rozšíření řad všeobecných sester sloužících v Armádě České republiky. V této části práce byla použita metoda analýzy dat pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Zpracování dat probíhalo doslovným přepisem polostrukturovaných interview, zaznamenaných na nahrávací zařízení, do textového dokumentu. K analýze kvalitativních dat byla použita metoda prostého výčtu. Bylo osloveno celkem 10 respondentů – všeobecných sester z řad vojáků. Největší motivací pro vstup do AČR bylo samotné obdržení nabídky a změna z civilního prostředí do prostředí armády. Zvýšení motivace by se dalo docílit lepším finančním ohodnocením a přidáním dalších benefitů. Největším specifikem jejich práce je nadmíra korespondence, narozdíl od civilního sektoru. Nejzásadnějším přínosem pro respondenty jsou finance. Závěrem tento průzkum zmapoval otázku motivace všeobecných sester v Armádě České republiky a může napomoct k rozšíření zdravotnického personálu v prostředí AČR.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the history of nursing, as well as the application of general nurses in the Czech Army and their motivation to join the Army. The first part of the thesis focuses on the history of nursing. The practical part focuses on the motivation of general nurses. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate how general nurses in the Army of the Czech Republic are motivated and what additional motivation could help to expand the ranks of general nurses serving in the Army of the Czech Republic. In this part of the thesis, the method of data analysis using semi-structured interview was used. Data processing was done by transcribing the semi-structured interviews, recorded on a recording device, verbatim into a text document. The simple enumeration method were used to analyse the qualitative data. A total of 10 respondents – general nurses from the military – were interviewed. The greatest motivation for joining the Army was the actual receipt of an offer and the change from a civilian environment to an Army environment. Increased motivation could be achieved by better financial remuneration and the addition of other benefits. The biggest specificity of their work is the excess of correspondence, unlike in the civilian sector. The most important benefit for respondents is finance. In conclusion, this research has mapped the issue of motivation of general nurses in the Army of the Czech Republic and may help to expand the medical staff in the Army environment.
