The dissertation thesis presents a comprehensive view of the income situation of households and subsequently of living conditions in all European Union countries. Using primary data from the EU-SILC survey, the dissertation deals with income in-equality, factors influencing income differences and examines a development of a poverty rate in relation to the EU's social goals.
