Cost analysis of SW product support

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá podporou softwarových produktů, především náklady vzniklými z této činnosti. Nejdříve práce zkoumá softwarovou podporou jako takovou. Je zde definována a také je popsáno její základní členění. Další část práce se týká knihovny postupů ITIL(Knihovna infrastruktury informačních technologií). Tento soubor, jehož celý název je Information Technology Infrastructure Library, se snaží najít nejlepší možný způsob vedení softwarové podpory pro firmu i její zákazníky. Spolu s knihovnou je popsán i způsob managementu z ní odvozený, jímž je ITSM(Management IT služeb). Práce pokračuje zkoumáním faktorů, které nejvíce ovlivňují náklady softwarové podpory. Spolu s popisem těchto faktorů je zde uveden popis základních dvou skupin metod používaných k predikci nákladů na software. V práci zkoumaná data pocházejí ze společnosti Diebold Nixdorf, jež je popsána včetně svojí softwarové podpory. Následně je popsán celý proces zpracování dat od získání ze systému po statistickou analýzu. Výsledkem práce je zpracovaná datová analýza spolu s nástrojem na predikci nákladů ve formě aplikace.

Abstract:

The Bachelor thesis is focused on software product support; especially cost arising from this activity. First the work describes the basics of software support. There is its definition and then the work lists the different types of it. The next part of the work is about library ITIL. This framework, which full name is Information Technology Infrastructure Library, tries to find the best possible solution of software support, both for customer and company. Together with this library, there is an explanation of the type of management with close ties to ITIL, which is ITSM. The work continues with examining different factors that affect the costs of software support. Together with these factors there is the research of two groups of methods used for software cost prediction. The data used in the work comes from company Diebold Nixdorf, which is also described together with its software support. Then the whole process of data analysis is defined, from the data collection to statistical analysis. The result of work is a statistical analysis of the data together with the tool to predict the costs. The tool is created as an application.
