A Romany child in foster care and their identity

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Romské dítě v pěstounské péči a jeho identita“. Ve své diplomové práci se budu věnovat problematice romského dítěte svěřeného do pěstounské péče majoritní rodiny. Konkrétně se chci zaměřit na samotné dítě, a to jak vnímá svou identitu. Diplomová práce bude rozdělena na teoretickou část, kde se zaměřím na specifika romského dítěte, systém pěstounské péče v České republice, jaké děti jsou umísťovány do dlouhodobé pěstounské péče, kde se budu snažit nastínit, jaké vlastně romské děti v náhradní rodinné péči jsou. V neposlední řadě se soustředím na vymezení pojmu identity a s tím související problematiku budování identity u romského dítěte v pěstounské péči. Praktické části, kde jsem zkoumal 5 respondentů, a to různých věkových skupin i pohlaví V praktické části budu postupovat formou kvalitativního výzkumu, a to formou rozhovorů s romskými dospělými, kteří byli svěřeni jako děti do pěstounské péče majoritních rodin.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis Romani Child in foster care and their identity. In my diploma thesis I address an issue of Romani child given to foster care of a majoritarian family. I want to focus particularly on the children themselves and how they perceive their identity. The thesis will be divided into theoretical part where I focus on the specifics of a Romani child, foster care system in Czech Republic and what children are placed in long-term foster care. This part deals with children that are actually put in foster care. I also focus on the definition of the term identity and related issue of identity construction of a Romani child in foster care. In the practical part, I interviewed five respondents of various age and sex. I chose qualitative research in form of interviews of Romani adults who were put in foster care of majoritarian families as children.
