Manipulative Techniques of Political Party Leaders in the Online Environment

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá přítomností manipulativních technik u lídrů polických stran Poslanecké sněmovny v online prostředí. První část práce seznamuje čtenáře se základními pojmy zahrnující politický marketing a popisuje využití nových médií v politické sféře. Práce dále definuje pojem manipulace a charakterizuje nejčastější manipulativní techniky v politické praxi. V praktické části jsou tyto výroky předloženy participantům v rámci polostrukturovaného rozhovoru, jehož cílem je zjistit, zda participanti dokáží odhalit, zda sdělení lídrů politických stran v Poslanecké sněmovně obsahují nějakou formu manipulace a případně dokáží identifikovat, o jakou manipulativní techniku se jedná.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with manipulative techniques in an online environment used by the leaders of political parties that are part of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic. The first part of the bachelor presents the basic terms, including political marketing and the use of media within the political sphere. This thesis further defines the term manipulation and characterizes the most common manipulative techniques used in political practice. In the practical part of this thesis, the political party leaders' statements are presented to the participants of the research in the manner of a semi-structured interview. The interview's main objective is to determine whether the participants can detect the presence of manipulation in general and if so, what kind of technique.
