This thesis deals with assessing the effectiveness of two international criminal courts: International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. Diplomová práca sa zaoberá hodnotením efektivity medzinárodných trestných tribunálov, a to konkrétne Medzinárodného trestného tribunálu pre bývalú Juhosláviu a Medzinárodného trestného tribunálu pre Rwandu. Efektivita je hodnotená na základe "goal-based" prístupu. To znamená, že si kladieme otázku, či sa týmto medzinárodným tribunálom podarilo dosiahnuť ciele, ktoré im boli stanovené.
