Electrochemical determination of theobromine and theophylline at carbon based electrodes

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na stanovení theobrominu a theofylinu na elektrodách uhlíkového typu. Teoretická část zahrnuje popis alkaloidů a jejich dělení, dále vlastnosti, využití a význam theobrominu a theofylinu. Jako další následuje kapitola o čokoládě, která je hlavním zdrojem těchto dvou alkaloidů, a na závěr je zmíněno několik metod, pomocí kterých je lze stanovit ve vzorcích potravinářského, biologického nebo farmaceutického typu. Experimentální část obsahuje přípravu potřebných roztoků, pracovních elektrod, použitých metod a zařízení. V části výsledky a diskuse je kromě úvodních experimentů uvedena optimalizace metody pro stanovení obou alkaloidů s následným ověřením spolehlivosti metody pomocí analýz modelových a reálných vzorků.

Abstract:

This work is focused on determination of theobromine and theophylline on carbon based electrodes. The theoretical part contains description of alkaloids and their distribution, as well as the properties, use and importance of theobromine and theophylline. Furthermore, there is a chapter about chocolate which is the main source of these two alkaloids, and finally there are several methods which can be used determination in food, biological or pharmaceutical samples. The experimental part contains preparation of necessary solutions, working electrodes and used methods and devices. In the results and discussion section, besides the initial experiments, the optimization of the method for the determination of both alkaloids with the subsequent verification of the method reliability by the analysis of model and real samples is presented.
