Analysis of the role of the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the European Union

Abstract:

Práce s názvem Analýza role Stálého zastoupení České republiky při Evropské unii (Stálé zastoupení) zkoumá, jakým způsobem se Stálé zastoupení vyvíjelo od vstupu ČR do EU až do současnosti (počátek roku 2014). Práce testuje tři přístupy nového institucionalismu – přístup historický (koncept path-dependency), racionální (koncept pán-správce) a sociologický (koncept logika vhodnosti) a pokouší se zjistit, který z nich je nejvhodnější pro vysvětlení vývoje zvolené instituce. Za nezávislé proměnné, které mohly mít vliv na vývoj Stálého zastoupení, práce považuje: změnu vlády/ vládní koalice, předsednictví ČR v Radě EU a přijímání strategických dokumentů v Radě EU.

Abstract:

Thesis with the title Analysis of the role of the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the European Union (the Permanent Representation) deals with development of the Permanent Representation since the Czech Republic joined the EU until the beginning of the year 2014. Thesis is testing three different approaches of New-institutionalism – historical (concept path-dependency), rational choice (concept principal-agent) and sociological (concept logic of appropriateness). Thesis set three independent variables which could have influenced development of the institution. Those independent variables are following: change of government/ coalition government, the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU and acceptance of strategic documents in the Council of the EU.
