Determination of mercury using solid sampling electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry.

Abstract:

V této práci byly zkoumány podmínky pro stanovení rtuti pomocí atomové absorpční spektrometrie s elektrotermickou atomizací a dávkováním pevných vzorků. Nejprve byly hledány optimální podmínky pro analýzu vodných roztoků a to teplotní program pro atomizátor, stabilizující činidlo a modifikátor povrchu atomizační lodičky. Jako stabilizující činidlo byly použity KMnO4 a K2Cr2O7, jako modifikátor Ir a směs Ir a Au. Pokrytí těmito kovy bylo provedeno termickým rozkladem nadávkovaných solí a elektrodepozicí. Dále bylo provedeno srovnání deuteriové korekce pozadí a korekce pomocí Zeemanova jevu. Jako optimální bylo vybráno termické pokrytí grafitové lodičky směsí Ir a Au v množství 370 ug se stabilizací Hg2+ v roztoku s 0,05 g.l-1 K2Cr2O7 a korekce pozadí pomocí Zeemanova jevu.Kalibrační závislost sestrojená za těchto podmínek byla použita pro vyhodnocení obsahů rtuti v pevných vzorcích půd a rostliny v navážkách do 0,5 mg.

Abstract:

In this study the conditions for the determination of mercury by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry with solid sampling system were studied. At the beginning the optimal conditions for analysis of water solutions were investigated including the thermal program for atomization, stabilizing agents of mercury and the modifiers of the graphite platform surface. The compounds of KMnO4 and K2Cr2O7 as the stabilizing agents and Ir or the mixture of Ir and Au as the modifiers were used. The modification of the atomizer surface by these metals was carried out by the thermal deposition or electrodeposition. The comparison of the deuterium and Zeeman correction of the background was realized. The best results of mercury determination were obtained by thermal deposition of the mixture of Ir and Au on the atomizer surface, the stabilization of Hg2+ in the solution by the 0,05g.l-1 K2Cr2O7 and by using of Zeeman correction. The calibration curve measured under these conditions was used for the evaluation of the contents of mercury in solid samples of soils or plants for the sample mass of 0,5 mg.
