The translation of language for special purposes. Texts about the fire prevention

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with specialized text and with difficulties which are connected with its translation. The goal of the thesis is to connect in the analysed text the theoretical information with the specific phenomena which are interesting from the point of view of translation. This should demonstrate a procedure which is applied when dealing with translation difficulties when translating of guidelines. These guidelines refer to fire safety in railway tunnels. A translation strategy for the translation of texts on fire protection is formulated on the basis of these findings. The thesis represents certain introduction to problems of translation of specialized texts in this field.

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá odborným jazykem a úskalími, která jsou spojená s jeho překladem. Mezi cíle práce patří spojit teoretické informace s konkrétními, z hlediska překladatelství zajímavými jevy v analyzovaném textu. Snahou je ukázat postup při řešení překladatelských problémů na překladu směrnice, která se vztahuje k požární bezpečnosti v železničních tunelech v SRN, a následně zformulovat vlastní překladatelskou strategii pro překlad textů z požární ochrany. Práci lze chápat jako jistý úvod k problematice překladu odborných textů v tomto oboru.
