Life cycle and solutions for the implementation of identification smart cards

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá dvoufázovou autentizací pomocí identifikačních čipových karet a jejich životním cyklem v rámci implementace. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je implementace řešení dvoufázové autentizace pomocí identifikačních karet do podnikového systému. Vypracování implementace řešení probíhá na místě městského úřadu Města Neratovice a za využití jejich interních zdrojů včetně výpočetní techniky. Implementace řešení zahrnuje také inicializaci životního cyklu, který doprovází identifikační čipové karty, během kterého je dvoufázová autentizace zaváděna zaměstnancům Města Neratovice. V první teoretické části této práce probíhá seznámení s principy a funkcemi digitálních certifikátů. V navazující teoretické části jsou popsány různé druhy a funkcionality čipových karet a jejich využití. Znalosti z teoretické části jsou posléze využity při zpracování praktických částí bakalářské práce, kde probíhá příprava na implementaci a vytvoření vlastní certifikační autority a její nastavení. V poslední části praktické části se tato práce zabývá přípravou bezpečného využití čipových karet a životního cyklu čipových karet. Na závěr zhodnoceno, jak byla implementace řešení úspěšná a zda byly splněny dílčí cíle. Bakalářská práce zahrnuje kompletní proces zavádění dvoufázové autentizace s využitím čipových karet a digitálních certifikátů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with two-factor authentication using identification smart cards and their implementation life cycle. The main objective of the bachelor thesis is to implement a two-factor authentication solution using identification cards in an enterprise system. The development of the implementation of the solution is carried out on the site of the municipal office of the City of Neratovice and with the use of their internal resources including computer technology. The implementation of the solution also includes the initialization of the life cycle that accompanies the identification smart cards, during which the two-factor authentication is introduced to the employees of the City of Neratovice. In the first theoretical part of this thesis, the principles and functions of digital certificates are introduced. In the following theoretical part, different types and functionalities of smart cards and their use are described. The knowledge from the theoretical part is then used in the practical part of the bachelor thesis, where the implementation and creation of the certification authority and its setup is prepared. In the last part of the practical part, this thesis deals with the preparation of the secure use of smart cards and the life cycle of smart cards. Finally, it evaluates how successful the implementation of the solution was and whether the sub-objectives were met. The bachelor thesis covers the complete process of implementing two-factor authentication using smart cards and digital certificates.
