Social Ontology of Geoffrey Hodgson

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá přenesením darwinovské teorie do sociálních věd. Hodgson a Knudsen vytváří teorii zobecněného darwinismu a redefinují darwinovské pojmy. Pokud se toto zobecnění podaří může být tato teorie prospěšná nejen v ekonomické sféře ale i v ostatních sférách, které se zabývají evolučními procesy. Autoři trvají na darwinismu jako na jediné variantě, která dokáže vysvětlit sociální evoluci. Proto zamítají lamarckismus a ostatní teorie. V teorii lpí na ontologické podobnosti biologického a sociálního systému. Jejich teorie pracuje s předpokladem ontologické podobnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis is concerned with the translation of Darwinian theory into the social sciences. Hodgson and Knudsen develop a theory of generalized Darwinism and redefine Darwinian concepts. If this generalization succeeds, the theory may be useful not only in the economic sphere but also in other spheres that deal with evolutionary processes. The authors insist on Darwinism as the only variant that can explain social evolution. They therefore reject Lamarckism and other theories. In the theory they cling to the ontological similarity of biological and social systems. Their theory works with the assumption of ontological similarity.
