Bats (Chiroptera) of selected parks in Ostrava

Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo zjistit druhovou diverzitu a intenzitu letové aktivity dvou vzájemně se lišících ostravských parků, a to lesoparku Benátky a parku Komenského sady. Byla zvolena metoda liniových transektů s použitím detektorů Petterson D 240 a Magenta Bat 5, pracujících v heterodynovacím režimu. Během letní sezóny byly provedeny 3 kontroly parků s ohledem na životní cyklus netopýrů. V tomto období bylo zjištěno celkem 5 druhů netopýrů čeledi Vespertilionidae: Nyctalus noctula, Eptesicus serotinus, Myotis daubentonii, Pipistrellus pipistrellus, Pipistrellus nathusii. Celková doba monitoringu trvala 240 minut, z toho bylo 85 pozitivních minut (minuty, kdy byl zaznamenán hlas netopýra). V parku Komenského sady je dominantním druhem N. noctula (22 +minut), v lesoparku Benátky P. pipistrellus (15 +min). Nejvyšší druhovou diverzitu, letovou a loveckou aktivitu společenstva jsem zaznamenala v parku Komenského sady dne 18. 7. 2013 v okolí řeky Ostravice (78 +min/hod), čímž výrazně přesahovala všechny ostatní habitaty. V lesoparku Benátky na transektu vysokostébelné louky s roztroušenými keři a stromy se nacházelo 19. 6. 2013 loviště P. Pipistrellus, naopak nulová aktivita byla zjištěna v postlaktačním období dne 18. 7. 2013 na habitatu blízko místní komunikace a lesní cesty uprostřed stromového porostu a dne 5. 9. 2013 na transektu vysokostébelné louky.

Abstract:

The aim of this study was to determine the species diversity and intensity of flight activity of two different Ostrava parks. It was selected the method of line transects with using detectors Petterson D 240 and Magenta Bat 5, tuned in heterodying mode. Three visits to each of the parks were carried out in 2013 during the summer season, in June, July and early September, with regard to the life cycle of bats. During this period, a total of five species of bats of the family Vespertilionidae were found, namely: Nyctalus noctula, Eptesicus serotinus, Myotis daubentonii, Pipistrellus pipistrellus, Pipistrellus nathusii. Total monitoring time included 240 minutes, of which 85 were positive minutes (minutes in which a call of a bat was recorded). In the Komenského sady park the most common species was N. noctula (22 +min), in the forest park Benátky P. pipistrellus was a dominant species (15 +min). The highest species diversity, flight and hunting activity were recorded in the Komenského sady park in 18. 7. 2013 in the vicinity of the river Ostravice (78 +min/hr), and significantly exceeded all the other habitats. In the forest park Benátky, meadow habitat with tall grass and with scattered bushes and trees in 19. 6. 2013 significant hunting of Pipistrellus species was recorded, while no activity was detected in a certain period in 18. 7. 2013 in the habitat of forest road and 5. 9. 2013 in the meadow habitat with tall grass.
