The last Argentinian dictatorship and its representation in contemporary narrative

Abstract:

The objective of this thesis was a rigorous analysis of two selected works from the perod of the last military dictatorship in Argentina. In the theoretical part, this dictatorial regime is defined, from the coup to the recovered democracy and contemporary literature. It focuses on censorship, exile literature and literature produced under the regime, of which the genre of the novel and the use of allegory and irony are the most prominent. In the practical part, two works of literature from that period are analyzed, La casa y el viento by Héctor Tizón with a focus on exile literature and El vuelo del tigre by Daniel Moyano with a focus on censorship and allegory as a mode of representation.

Abstract:

El objetivo de este trabajo era el análisis riguroso de las dos obras escogidas del periodo de la última dictadura militar en Argentina. En la parte introductiva hemos definido el régimen dictatorial, desde el golpe de Estado hasta la democracia recobrada y la literatura contemporánea. Allí nos hemos enfocado en la censura, la literatura de exilio y la literatura producida bajo el régimen, de la que destaca el género de la novela y el empleo de la alegoría y la ironía. Luego hemos analizado dos obras de dicha época. La casa y el viento de Héctor Tizón con el enfoque a la literatura de exilio y El vuelo del tigre de Daniel Moyano con el enfoque a la censura y la alegoría como el modo de representación.
