Activation activities and therapy in work with seniors

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá aktivizačními činnostmi a terapiemi při práci se seniory. Cílem této práce je zmapovat využívání aktivizačních činností a terapií při práci se seniory ve vybraných zařízeních. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se skládá ze tří kapitol, praktická část pak tvoří čtvrtou kapitolu. První kapitola práce se zabývá biologickými, psychickými a sociálními aspekty stárnutí, periodizací seniorského věku, demografickými změnami ve společnosti a aktivním stárnutím. Druhá kapitola se věnuje důležitým pojmům vztahujícím se k aktivizačním činnostem a terapiím, teoreticky vymezuje pojem terapie a zejména podává detailnější informace o vybraných aktivizačních činnostech a terapiích. Třetí kapitola podává přehled o domovech pro seniory, o profesi aktivizačního pracovníka, o legislativních předpisech vztahujících se k aktivizačním činnostem a terapiím v domovech pro seniory a o možnostech uplatnění speciálních pedagogů v sociálních službách. V praktické části je věnován prostor zmapování aktivizačních činností a terapií při práci se seniory v praxi ve dvou vybraných domovech pro seniory. Pozornost je zaměřena také na popis organizace aktivizace a popis cílů, přínosu a významu aktivizačních činností a terapií z pohledu aktivizačních pracovníků a klientů ve vybraných zařízeních. Výzkumné šetření je zpracována formou kvalitativního výzkumu, hlavní metodou je využití polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s aktivizačními pracovníky a klienty v obou vybraných zařízeních. K analýze rozhovorů byla využita první část zakotvené teorie, otevřené kódování.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with activation activities and therapies in work with seniors. The aim of this work is to describe the use of activation activities and therapies in working with seniors in chosen social institutions. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part consists of three chapters, the practical part is the fourth chapter. The first chapter desribes biological, psychological and social aspects of aging, senior age periodization, demographic changes in society and active aging. In the second chapter are explained important terms related to activation activities and therapies, theoretically defines the concept of therapy and, in particular, provides more detailed information about specific activation activities and therapies. The third chapter gives an overview of the homes for the elderly, the profession of activation worker, the legislative regulations related to activation activities and therapies within the homes for the elderly and the possibilities of applying special educators in social services. The practical part describes using of activation activities and therapies in work with seniors in practice in in two selected homes for seniors. Attention is also focused on the description of the organization of activation, followed by the description of goals, benefits and importance of activation activities and therapies from the point of view of activation workers and clients in selected social institutions. The research is processed in the form of qualitative research, the main method is to use a semi-structured interviews with activation workers and clients in both homes for elderly people. The first part of grounded theory, open coding, was used to analyze those interviews.
