Specifics of needs of the children with thyroid disease

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit a popsat subjektivní vnímání života dětí s onemocněním štítné žlázy. Dále identifikovat specifika potřeb dětí s onemocněním štítné žlázy a porovnat mezi sebou potřeby dětí s hyperfunkcí a hypofunkcí štítné žlázy. Metodika: Výzkum byl proveden kvalitativní metodou, kdy se pracuje s malou skupinou respondentů. Metodou sběru dat byl strukturovaný, nestandardizovaný rozhovor s dětmi a jejich rodiči a pozorování. Pro potřeby výzkumu bylo vybráno dvanáct diagnostických tříd NANDA international, taxonomie II, kdy každá třída představuje jednu oblast předpokládaných potřeb. Byla provedena analýza výpovědí dětí (n=10) s hypotyreózou a hypertyreózou a jejich rodičů. Metoda nabízí lépe porozumět specifiku potřeb dětí, a tak zkvalitnit ošetřovatelskou péči. Výsledky: U dětí bylo identifikováno jedenáct dominantních základních potřeb úzce související s onemocněním. Jde o potřeby: tělesného růstu, přijímat potravu, vhodného metabolismu, dostatku tekutin, zdravého zažívání, nemít infekci, spánku a odpočinku, energetické rovnováhy, pozornosti ke vjemům, zvládnout zátěž a sociální pohody. Jen jedna potřeba byla důrazněji zmiňována pouze u dětí s hypotyreózou, a to potřeba tělesného růstu, a jedna potřeba nebyla zmiňována vůbec, potřeba přirozeného vývoje. Závěr: Děti s hypotyreózou a hypertyreózou mají velmi podobné potřeby, které pokud nejsou uspokojeny, výrazně narušují život dítěte, a proto je velmi důležité naučit tyto děti, jak se s těmito potřebami vypořádat.

Abstract:

The aim: The aim of thesis was finding out and describing subjective perception of child?s life with thyroid gland disease. Further identify of specify child?s needs with thyroid gland disease and compare child?s needs with hyper function and hypofunction of thyroid gland. Methodics: The investigation was done by qualitative method. In this method is working with small group of respondents. Data collection method was structured unstandardized interview with children and their parents and observation. For investigation?s needs was chosen twelve diagnostic classes NANDA international, taxonomie II. Each class represents one group of supposed needs. There was made analysis of children?s testimony (n=10) with hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism and their parents. The method offers to better understand child?s specify needs, thus improve nursing care. Results: At children was identified eleven dominant basic needs closely associated with disease. These needs are: physical growth, ingest, proper metabolism, enough fluids, healthy digestion, not having an infection, sleep and relaxation, energy balance, attention to sensation, coping and social welfare. Only at children with hypothyroidism was forcefully mentioned one need and it was physical growth. One need wasn´t mentioned at all and it was natural evolution. Conclusion: Children with hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism have very similar needs. If this needs aren´t meet they disrupt child?s life and therefore is very important to learn these children how to deal with needs.
