Development and function of liver in mammalian

Abstract:

Játra jsou největším žlázovým orgánem v lidském těle. Zastávají mnoho životně důležitých funkcí jako je např. produkce žluči, detoxikace nebo regulace hladiny krevní glukózy odbouráváním glykogenu. Játra pochází z entodermu předního střeva. Základní stavební jednotkou jater je jaterní lalůček a hlavní typ jaterních buněk jsou hepatocyty. Hepatocyty pocházejí z prekurzorů tzv. hepatoblastů, stejně jako buňky žlučových epitelů. Výsledky výzkumu v posledních deseti letech popsaly klíčové interakce růstových a transkripčních faktorů, regulujících vývoj jater. Nejvíce informací o těchto faktorech a jejich signálních drahách bylo zjištěno experimenty na myších. Tato práce shrnuje současné poznatky o molekulárních mechanismech, které hepatogenezi řídí.

Abstract:

The liver is the largest glandular organ in the human body and provides many essential functions such as productin of bile, detoxication or regulation of blood glucose by degradation of glycogen. Liver is derived from foregut endoderm. The main type of liver cells is hepatocyte. Hepatocytes derived from precursors called hepatoblasts, as well as billiary epithelial cells. In the last decade the results of research have described important interactions growth and transcription factors, which regulate liver development. A lot of informations about these factors and their signaling pathways have identified by experiments on mouse. This thesis summarizes current knowledge of the molecular mechanisms that control hepatogenesis.
