Pupils with impaired communication ability in the process of acquiring reading skills

Abstract:

Narušená komunikační schopnost je významným rizikovým faktorem při osvojování čtenářských dovedností. Cílem diplomové práce je analýza výskytu narušené komunikační schopnosti a jejího možného vlivu na počáteční čtení. Práce se dále zaměřuje na využití různých metod čtení a komparaci čtenářských výsledků žáků s narušenou komunikační schopností v rámci těchto metod. Teoretická část předkládá východiska z oblasti komunikace, jazykového a řečového vývoje dítěte, narušené komunikační schopnosti, vzdělávání, školní zralosti a připravenosti, komunikačních kompetencí a popisuje nejfrekventovanější metody čtení. V empirické části jsou prezentovány výsledky kvantitativního výzkumu, který byl zpracován na základě dotazníkového šetření mezi pedagogy 1. ročníků základních škol.

Abstract:

Impaired communication ability is a significant risk factor in the process of acquisition of reading skills. The main goal of this Master's thesis is to analyze occurance and frequency of impaired communication ability among pupils in the first year of primary school and to analyze how it influences pupils' reading skills in this early stage of learning. The thesis also explores how often different methods of teaching reading and makes a between-groups comparison focused on reading skills of pupils thought by these different methods. The theoretical part deals with communication, speech and language development, impaired communication ability, education, school readiness, communication competency and methods of teaching reading. The empirical part of the thesis presents results of quantitative research which have been based on information obtained from a questionnaire survey among primary school teachers.
