Auditory rehabilitation of adults after cochlear implantation using SpeechTrax material

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá rehabilitací dospělých osob se sluchovým postižením s využitím materiálu SpeechTrax. Hlavním cílem práce je adaptace tohoto materiálu na české prostředí. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na dospělé osoby se sluchovým postižením z hlediska zdravotní a sociální péče a také ze společenského hlediska. Mimo to se zabývá představením kompenzačních pomůcek těchto osob, postupem při sluchové rehabilitaci a představením metody speech tracking. Z té vychází materiál SpeechTrax, jehož adaptací na české prostředí se zabývá praktická část této práce. K dosažení stanovených cílů byla zvolena metoda přímé administrace, zúčastněného pozorování, polostrukturovaného i nestrukturovaného rozhovoru, obsahové analýzy dostupných dokumentů a analýza výsledků činnosti.

Abstract:

The thesis discusses the rehabilitation of hearing-impaired adults, using the SpeechTrax material. The main goal of the thesis is to adapt this material to the Czech environment. The theoretical part focuses on adults with hearing impairment in terms of healthcare, social care and other social aspects. It also introduces assistive technologies intended for these persons, discusses various processes of aural rehabilitation, and introduces the speech-tracking method. This method is the basis for the SpeechTrax material, which is the focus of the practical part of the thesis. To achieve the stated goal of adapting the material to the Czech environment, the author has chosen the method of direct administration, involved observation, semi-structured and non-structured interview, content analysis of available documents, and finally an analysis of the results.
