Proposal of the introduction of open-source internet business to large companies

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce Návrh zavedení open-source internetového obchodu do velké firmy je návrh implementace open-source řešení, které bude vhodné pro použití ve velkých firmách. Práce je primárně zaměřena na otestování a následné přizpůsobení open-source aplikace nopCommerce pro velké firmy s obratem v internetovém obchodu nad 100 mil. korun českých za rok a dále by aplikace měla být schopna fungovat při velkém zatížení. Při nejvyšším zatížení bude aplikaci využívat asi 2500 aktivních uživatelů. Při zpracování práce bude nejprve představena aplikace nopCommerce a její konkurence, dále budou provedeny systémové a výkonnostní testy. Na základě testů budou provedeny případné potřebné změny. Změny se nebudou týkat pouze uživatelského rozhraní, ale z důvodu výkonnosti aplikace budou provedeny změny i v jádru aplikace. Na závěr bude provedená změna aplikace otestována. Tato práce by neměla sloužit pouze pro firmy, které plánují otevřít velký internetový obchod, ale i pro všechny ty, kteří si chtějí otevřít vlastní internetový obchod a chtějí k tomu využít open-source aplikaci.

Abstract:

The main goal of the bachelor thesis Proposal of the introduction of open-source internet business to large companies, is to draft the implementation of open-source solution suitable for large companies. The thesis is primarily focused on testing and subsequent adaptation of open-source application nopCommerce for large companies with an online store with turnover higher than 100 mil. czech crowns per year. Therefore this application should beable to operate at high loads. During peak times, the application will use about 2,500 active users. In the bachelor thesis the first part is focused on introduction of nopCommerce and his competitors. This is followed by system and performance testing. Based on these tests the necessary changes to the system will be carried out. The changes are not related only to user interface, but because of the performance of the application nopCommerce the core of the application has to be rewritten. Afterwards the new changes to the application nopCommerce will be tested. This work serves not only to companies planning to open a large online shop, but also all help all these who want to open theis own shop based on open-source application.
