Abstract:
This bachelor thesis is focused on synthesizing of unsymmetrically substituted ben-zoquinones and finding optimal conditions for the model Diels-Alder reaction with cyclopentadiene. The first part focuses on theoretical description of the Diels-Alder reaction, with main emphasis on the mechanism and possible catalysis by Lewis acids and chiral compounds.
