Methods of communication people with mental disease

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na komunikaci s lidmi s mentálním postižením v rámci péče v domově pro osoby se zdravotním postižením a na snahu udržovat a rozvíjet jejich sociální dovednosti. Teoretická část je věnována řeči, jejím poruchám, vymezení pojmů a příčinám vzniku mentálního postižení. Popsána je hlavně neverbální komunikace, která informuje okolí o skutečném vnitřním rozpoložení jedince, odráží jeho emoční nálady a napětí. Pro snažší komunikaci je prospěšné používání komunikačních technik a pomůcek, jako jsou doteky, zrakový kontakt, ale i různé alternativy řeči, jako jsou fotografie, obrázky, piktogramy, znaky s použitím mluvené řeči. V praktické části jsou vymezeny cíle výzkumného šetření a metody v používání některých alternativních technik při komunikaci s lidmi mentálně postiženými. Výzkumné šetření je prováděno v rámci Domova pro osoby se zdravotním postižením Kytlice se snahou o zjištění a popsání pozitivních a negativních přístupů v komunikaci uživatele a pracovníka. Dále jde o vytvoření nabídky, která se týká pomoci pracovníkům zlepšit komunikaci, jež povede k jejímu usnadnění, odstranění některých komunikačních překážek a k většímu porozumění účastněných.

Abstract:

The work is focused on communication with people with mental disability within the care in home for people with mental disabilities and efforts to maintain and develop their social skills. The theoretical part deals with the speech, its defects, definitions of the terms and causes of mental disability. A nonverbal communication that informs the surrounding about the actual inner state of mind of the individual is mostly described. This communication reflects mood and emotional stress. For ease of communication it is beneficial to use the communication aids such as touching, eye contact, also various alternatives of speech, such as photos, pictures, pictograms or signs with the use of speech. The practical part defines the aims of the research and methods in the use of some alternative techniques in communication in everyday life with people with mental handicap. The research was realized in the home for people with physical disabilities Kytlice with an effort to identify and describe the positive and negative approaches to communication of its users and staff. Furthermore, there is also created an offer to help workers in improving communication, which will facilitate communication and the removal of some barriers to greater understanding of participating members.
