Regional differences in the agriculture in Spain

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá diferenciací v zemědělství na úrovni jednotlivých autonomních oblastí ve Španělsku, zemi rozkládající se na Pyrenejském poloostrově. Obecně je práce rozdělena do tří částí. Ta první se věnuje agroekologickým předpokladům zemědělství, tedy reliéfu, klimatu a půdám, což jsou podstatné faktory, které ovlivňují využití půdy k zemědělské produkci. Druhý úsek je zaměřen na vybrané ekonomické charakteristiky agrárního sektoru. Nejprve pojednává o ekonomickém významu zemědělství z hlediska HDP a dokumentuje zemědělskou produktivitu práce. Další podkapitoly se pak postupně týkají regionálních rozdílů v zaměstnanosti a podnikové struktuře. Poslední část představuje charakteristika rostlinné a živočišné výroby a na základě převládajícího zaměření stanovuje regionální agrární typologii. Hlavním cílem je zaznamenat spojení mezi přírodními podmínkami a využitím půdy k zemědělské výrobě a pochopit tak odlišnosti na úrovni jednotlivých autonomních oblastí. Používanými metodami jsou studium dostupné literatury a internetových zdrojů, sběr sekundárních statistických dat a jejich následné třídění, analýza a tvorba grafů. Součástí práce je také řada tematických map, jež slouží pro znázornění a pomáhají tak lépe porozumět studované problematice.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis concerns with the differentiation in agriculture on the level of particular autonomous communities in Spain, a country situated on the Iberian Peninsula. This thesis is divided in three parts. The first section deals with agro-ecological conditions of agriculture, i.e. on a topography, climate and land. These are very important factors, which influence agricultural production. The second part is focused on the characteristics of the agrarian sector. First, it deals with economic significance of agriculture as regards GDP and documents agricultural productivity of labour. The next section involves regional differences in the employment and business structure. The last section characterises plant and animal production and defines the agrarian typology on the basis of predominant polarization. The principal aim is to find the connection between natural conditions and land use in agricultural production and to understand the diversity among particular autonomous communities. The methods that are used in this thesis are study of available literature and internet sources, collection of secondary statistical returns and their consecutive categorization, analysis and creation of graphs. The important part of the thesis is also the set of thematic maps which are instrumental to illustration. Thus, they help to better understand the given issue.
