The importance of rating for the finance market and its reliability

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je věnována tématice ratingu jako nástroji hodnocení. Rating je bodové hodnocení veškerých známých rizik hodnoceného subjektu, jak je tento subjekt schopen a ochoten dostát včas a v plné výši svým splatným závazkům. V okamžiku, kdy se investoři rozhodnou investovat své finanční prostředky tak je jejich cílem zajistit, aby investice byla pokud možno co nejbezpečnější. Potřebují patřičné informace a ty jsou poskytovány prostřednictvím ratingu. V diplomové práci nejprve popisuji finanční trh a úlohu ratingu, komu slouží a kdo ho stanovuje. Zaměřuji se na rozdíly mezi ratingem a jinými hodnotícími produkty na finančním trhu. V druhé části práce analyzuji rating jednotlivých zemí světa se zaměřením na Českou republiku. Po-té se zabývám ratingem největších českých bank. A v souvislosti se současnou situací na finančním trhu se ve své práci také věnuji finanční krizi a spojitostmi s ratingem. Cílem práce je přiblížení problematiky ratingu, porovnání a analyzování uděleného ratingu jednotlivým vybraným subjektům.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the theme of rating as a tool of evaluation. Rating is a score evaluation of all known risks of the evaluated subject in how the subject is capable and willing to meet its due payables in time and at full amount. In the moment when the investors decide to invest their financial funds, their goal is to ensure that the investment is as secure as possible. They need relevant information, and this is provided by means of rating. In my diploma thesis I first describe the financial market and the role of rating, who uses it, and who determines it. I concentrate on the differences between rating and other evaluation products on the financial market. In the second part of the thesis I analyse rating of individual countries of the world with focus on the Czech Republic. Then I deal with the greatest Czech banks´ rating. And in connection with the current situation on the financial market, in my thesis I also deal with the finacial crisis and relation to rating. The objective of the thesis is to explain the problems of rating, comparison and analysis of rating awarded to individual subjects.
