The Integration of Children with Special Needs to Scout Units

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá možností integrace dětí se speciálními potřebami v rámci české skautské organizace. V teoretické části jsou stručně popsány diagnózy dětí z výzkumu, dále je v ní shrnuta problematika přístupu společnosti k lidem s postižením, pokusy o integraci dětí se speciálními potřebami a jejich potřeba navázání přátelských vztahů. Poslední teoretická kapitola poskytuje informace o Junáku důležité pro pochopení výzkumu. Praktická část vychází z osobních zkušeností s několika dětmi se speciálními potřebami. Pomocí čtyř rozhovorů s respondenty z integrujících oddílů se snaží ilustrovat, jak může začlenění dětí se speciálními potřebami vypadat v praxi. Rozhovory jsou doplněny o vlastní zážitky v podobě příběhů tří dětí. Z výsledků vyplývá, že úspěšná integrace do skautských oddílů je možná a respondenti podporují její rozšíření v Junáku. I přes různé obtíže téměř každý zmiňuje pozitiva plynoucí z integrace pro všechny zúčastněné, na kladném vlivu na dítě se speciálními potřebami se shodují všichni. Poznatky z oblasti začlenění dětí se speciálními potřebami do skautských oddílů poukazují na dosud poměrně opomíjenou, a přesto potenciálně využitelnou, možnost, jak pomoci začlenit handicapované děti nejen mezi vrstevníky, ale i do majoritní společnosti.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on an integration possibility of children with special needs to Czech scout organization. The review starts with short descriptions of diagnosis, following chapters summarize the problem of society approach to people with disabilities, the integration attempts of children with special needs and their desire for maintain friendships. Last chapter of the review provides the information of Junak which are important for comprehension of the research. The study is based on personal experience with some children with special needs. Four interviews with respondents from integrating units illustrate how can the integration appear in reality. Personal stories with three children are added to the interviews. The results show that successful integration to scout units is possible and the respondents support this idea and its spread across Junak. Although they had to face various difficulties connected to integration, most of them mention the advantages for all included persons. All respondents agree on a positive effects on the child with special needs. The information from this sphere refer to a potentially useful possibility how to help integrate handicapped children not only among their peers, but also to major society.
