Ethical aspects of preoperative care in the teaching of practical nurses

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá etikou předoperační péče ve výuce praktických sester na konkrétní škole, Střední zdravotnické škole SZŠ - EA Náchod. V teoretické části jsou popsány základní definice obecné a aplikované etiky, čtyři principy biomedicínské etiky a etiky ctností v rozsahu, který by měli budoucí praktické sestry znát a aplikovat v praxi. Dále je zmapován současný stav výuky etiky na SZŠ - EA Náchod a učebních textů o etice v předoperační péči v učebnicích pro střední zdravotnické školy, kde převládá výuka etiky podle Etického kodexu ICN. V praktické části je popsána metodika a jsou zde vyhodnocena data získaná pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s žáky školy. Cílem výzkumného šetření je zjistit, jak vnímají žáci SZŠ - EA Náchod výuku etiky především podle Etického kodexu ICN a zda je podle nich dostatečnou etickou průpravou pro výkon povolání ve srovnání se výukou čtyř principů biomedicínské etiky. Na základě získaných dat od participantů jsou navržena doporučení.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the ethics of preoperative care in the education of practical nurses at a specific school, the Secondary Medical School of SZŠ - EA Náchod. In the theoretical part, basic definitions of general and applied ethics, the four principles of biomedical ethics, and the ethics of virtues are described to the extent that future practical nurses should know and apply in practice. Furthermore, the current state of ethics education at SZŠ - EA Náchod and teaching texts on ethics in preoperative care in textbooks for secondary medical schools are mapped, where the teaching of ethics according to the Ethical Code ICN prevails. The practical part describes the methodology, and the data obtained from semi-structured interviews with school students are evaluated. The aim of the research was to find out how students perceive the teaching of ethics according to the Ethical Code ICN at SZŠ - EA Náchod and whether it is sufficient ethical training for the profession compared to the teaching of the four principles of biomedical ethics. Based on the data obtained from the participants, recommendations are suggested.
