Nonparametric density estimation
Abstract:
The aim of this thesis was to introduce selected methods for nonparametric density estimation. We introduced methods based on histogram (classic histogram, frequency polygon and average shifted histogram), kernel estimates and finite mixtures. Subsequently, all methods were applied and compared on both simulated and real data.
Abstract:
Cílem této práce bylo představit vybrané metody neparametrického odhadu funkce hustoty. Postupně byly popsány metody založené na histogramu (klasický histogram, polygon četnosti a histogram s klouzavým průměrem), jádrové odhady a konečné směsi hustot. Následně byly všechny metody porovnané na simulovaných a reálných datech pomocí software MATLAB.
