Elements of Romanticism in Selected Works of Muriel Spark

Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá prvky romantismu, konkrétně nadpřirozena, tajemna, groteskna a gotična, ve třech dílech Muriel Sparkové Mementu Mori, Baladě z předměstí a Nejlepších létech slečny Jean Brodiové. V teoretické části této práce jsou nastíněny charakteristiky romantismu a výše uvedených prvků. Analýza tří děl zobrazuje, jak Muriel Spark tyto prvky romantismu využívala.
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis deals with the elements of Romanticism, namely the Grotesque and the Gothic, in three novels by Muriel Spark Memento Mori, The Ballad of Peckham Rye and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. In the theoretical part of this thesis, the characteristics of Romanticism and the above mentioned elements are defined.
