Mental stress of general nurses in inpatient ward

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit stupeň psychické zátěže všeobecných sester při práci ve směnném provoze na odděleních intenzivní, standardní a následné péče ve Sdruženém zdravotnickém zařízení v Krnově a analyzovat rozdíly ve faktorech ovlivňujících tuto zátěž v závislosti na věku, vzdělání, délce praxe sester a zjištěné výsledky porovnat s výsledky jiných studií. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 192 všeobecných sester. Prostředkem pro získání informací byl standardizovaný Meisterův dotazník. Výzkumné šetření probíhalo v období březen ? květen 2012. Pro popis dat byla použita popisná statistika, pro určení rozdílů byly použity statistické testy. Výsledky: Při analýze výsledků byl prokázán výsledný stupeň psychické zátěže na odděleních intenzivní a standardní péče jedna a na odděleních následné péče dva. Mezi nejvíce negativně hodnocené položky patřil pocit časové tísně a dlouhodobá únosnost. Při analýze rozdílů ve faktorech ovlivňujících psychickou zátěž v závislosti na délce praxe, věku a vzdělání jsme zjistily největší statistický rozdíl u faktoru I. přetížení. U faktoru II. monotonie byl rozdíl pouze v závislosti na vzdělání a u faktoru III. jsme rozdíly nepotvrdily. Při porovnání našich výsledků s výsledky jiných studií jsme zjistily jen mírné rozdíly. Závěr: Náročnost práce sestry u lůžka je rozdílná. Rozdílné nároky vyplývají z typu oddělení, počtu hospitalizovaných pacientů a jejich zdravotního stavu, ale i počtu zdravotnických nelékařských pracovníků, kteří péči poskytují. Psychická zátěž, kterou tato práce přináší, zhoršuje nejen zdravotní stav a produktivitu práce sestry, ale přenáší se i do její rodiny. Má-li sestra dobře pracovat a starat se o pacienty, je potřeba, aby i ona byla v dobré kondici.

Abstract:

Aim: Aim of the diploma thesis was detemined the degree of mental stress of general nurses during their shifts on intensive, standard and aftercare in SZZ Krnov and analized differences in factors which that influence depending on age, aducation, length of practice nurses and the results compared with the results of other studies. Methods: The sample consisted of 192 nurses. Means for obtaining information was standardized Meisterův questionnaire. The survey covered the period from March to May 2012. There were used descriptive staistic for data description to determine differences were used statistical tests. Results: The analydsis of the resulting data showed a degree of mental stress on intensive care and standard one and aftercare departments two. Among the most negatively rated item was feeling time pressure and long-term resistance. The analysis of differences in factors affecting mental stress depending on length of experience, age and education, we found the greatest statistical difference in factor I. The monotomy factor II. was a difference only in relation to education and we didn´t confirm differences in factor III. When we compare our results with other studies, we found only slight differences. Conclusion: Performance of work at the bedside is different. Requirements based on the type department, the number of hospitalized patients and their health, but also the number of paramedical health care workers, who provide care. Mental stress that this work brings not only deteriorates health and productivity of nurses, but also transmits to her family. If nurse has to work well and take care of pacients, that is necessary to be in a good condition.
