International economic, political and cultural aspects of the Olympic Games 2020/2021

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá mezinárodními, ekonomickými, kulturními, politickými a dalšími aspekty Olympijských her 2021, které vznikly na základě odkladu OH 2020 z důvodu pandemie choroby COVID-19. Cílem je shromáždit veškeré informace a problémy se kterými se musí různé sektory postižené touto nevídanou situací vypořádat. Práce je rozdělena do několika částí. V první části se budu věnovat přiblížení oboru sportovní diplomacie, důležitostí OH pro mezinárodní vztahy a jejich vznik a také popsání aktuální situace pandemie. V další části se dostaneme do výzkumné části práce, kde zkusíme zanalyzovat veškeré aspekty. V neposlední řadě bude práce obsahovat analýzu rozhovorů s českými sportovci, kterých se tento odklad týkal a také členy olympijského výboru a trenéry.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis explores the effect of COVID-19 pandemic on Olympic Games, Tokyo 2020 in 2021. This includes economic, cultural, and political effects. The aim is to assess problems that the various sectors affected by this unprecedented situation have to deal with. This is supported by information from various sources. The work is divided into several parts. The first chapter focuses on the field of sports diplomacy. The importance of the Olympics for international relations and their origin is discussed, as well as a description of the current situation of the pandemic. Second chapter gets to the research part of the work, where we will try to analyse all aspects, which arose on the basis of the postponement of the Olympic Games. The final chapter presents an analysis of interviews with people affected by this postponement. This includes Czech athletes as well as member of the Olympic Committee and coaches.
