Attitudes of the Citizens of the Czech Republic towards Foreigners in Comparison with Attitudes of the Citizens of Selected European countries

Abstract:

Bakaláská práce Srovnání postoj oban eské republiky vi cizincm s postoji oban vybraných evropských stát se zabývá popisem základních pojm a teorií vztahujících se k migraci a analýzou a komparací postoj oban nkterých evropských stát vi cizincm. První ást diplomové práce je zamena na teoretický rozbor uvedené problematiky. V první kapitole jsou rozebrány rzné aspekty migrace antropologický, demografický, ekonomický, politický a sociologický. Pozornost je vnována také rzným typm migrace, jejím píinám a teoriím s tmito píinami spojeným. Obsahem druhé kapitoly jsou sociologické aspekty migrace a pedevším pak objasnní pojm etnocentrismus, pedsudky a xenofobie. Jsou zde uvedeny také píiny vzniku pedsudk a sociologické a psychologické píiny xenofobie. Poslední kapitola je vnována migraním politikám a to jednak obecným modelm stetu dvou kultur, jednak konkrétnímu rozdlení migraních politik. V druhé praktické - ásti je provedena analýza dat získaných výzkumem PPA II. Jsou zde analyzovány jednak odpovdi na jednotlivé otázky, které byly zahrnuty v dotazník, jednak porovnávání postoje respondent vi cizincm v jednotlivých zemích pomocí soutových index, jež mí xenofobii. V závru jsou shrnuty výsledky provedeného srovnání postoj vi cizincm ve vybraných zemích.

Abstract:

The diploma paper Attitudes of the Citizens of the Czech republic towards Foreigners in Comparison with Attitudes of the Citizens of the Selected European Countries deals with the description of the basic concepts and theories concerning migration and analysis and comparation of attitudes of the citizens of some european states towards foreigners. In the first part the different aspects of migration antropological, demographic, economic, political and sociological - are discussed. The attantion is paid even to the different types of migration, its causes and theories connected with these theories. The second chapter contents the sociological aspect of migration, especially the explication of the expressions ethnocentrism, prejustice and xenophobia. The reasons of the origin of prejudices and the sociological and psychological reasons of xenophobia are stated there. The last chapter is devoted to the policies of migration, partly to the general models of the clash of two cultures, partly particular division of the politics of migration. The second empirical - part deals with an analysis of the data gained in the PPA II research. The answers on individual questions concerned in the questionnaire are analysed and attitudes of informants towards foreigners are compared, using sum index that measures xenophobia. In the last part conclusions of the comparison of attitudes towards foreigners in the particular countries are stated.
