Geographical analysis of nationalism and euroscepticism in the Sokolovsko region: Case study Kraslice

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaobírá problematikou euroskepticismu a nacionalismu konkrétně v Kraslicích, což je nedílnou součástí, jakožto případové studie. Zkoumá výsledky dotazníkového šetření, jež aplikuje na teoretické poznatky získané z doktrín v rámci nacionalismu a euroskepticismu. Práce se zaobírá vlivem míry národní identity v souvislosti s postojem vůči Evropské unii, dále taktéž vyšší mírou národní identity preferující Česko na úkor Evropy, jakožto vykazování znaků inklinujících k pojetí inkluzivního či exkluzivního národa. V neposlední řadě se zaobírá rozborem respondentů na základě schématu Kopeckého-Muddeho v rámci euroskepticismu. Dále zkoumá vliv vyššího vzdělání coby aspektu, jenž v rámci respondentů podporuje evropskou integraci, jakož i samotnou Evropskou unii.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the case of euroscepticism and nationalism, specifically in the municipality of Kraslice as a case study. It examines the results of a questionnaire survey, which are applied to theoretical findings inferred from the doctrines of nationalism and Euroscepticism. The thesis examines the relationship between the degree of national identity and the attitude towards the European Union, as well as whether the higher degree of national identity preferring the Czech Republic occurs at the expense of pro-European attitudes. Last but not least, it deals with the analysis of respondents based on the Kopecký-Mudde scheme within Euroscepticism. It also examines the impact of higher education as an aspect that supports European integration among respondents, as well as the European Union itself.
