The Imagery of the Sky in the Visual Arts

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zachycuje vývoj interpretace oblaků ve výtvarných dílech v průběhu dějin, od ranného křesťanského umění, přes středověk, renesanci až k moderní podobě. I když se tato práce pokouší vytvořit jakýsi průřez danou problematikou, zdaleka ji nevyčerpává. Na své jednoduché osnově spíše nabízí zastavení u konkrétních umělců a jejich díla, na kterém demonstruje již zmíněný vývoj uměleckého pojetí oblaků. Praktická část zahrnuje tvorbu Ilustrovaného průvoce oblaky, knihy, která jednoduchou formou informuje případného zájemce o světě oblaků, o jejich vzniku, složení a klasifikaci.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis describes the development of cloud interpretation throughout the history of art, from early christian art across medieval art, renaissance to the multiform modern art. Although the work attempts to create an overview of this chosen subject, it is not covering it fully by a long shot. It rather offers a simple outline of specific artists and their works, on which it demonstrates the development of the artistic concept of clouds. The practical part describes a realization of The Illustrated Guide to Clouds, a book, that in a simple form informs us about the world of clouds, their origin, composition and classification.
