Voting behavior of young adults during the parliamentary elections in 2017 in the Usti region

Abstract:

Cílem práce je analýza politické participace a voličského chování mladých ve volbách do Poslanecké sněmovny Parlamentu České republiky v roce 2017 v Ústeckém kraji. V první části práce se zaměříme na identifikaci faktorů ovlivňujících volební chování voličů po roce 1989 s bližším zaměřením na vývoj politické participace mladých voličů a jejich následné politické směřování. V metodologické části bude představen způsob tvorby dotazníku a způsob sběru dat, včetně výběru vzorku. V analytické části se práce zaměří na analýzu volebního chování v Ústeckém kraji u dvou typově odlišných skupin voličů, tj. mladých voličů (studentů vysokých škol) ve srovnání s věkově starší kohortou voličů s cílem odpovědět na otázku, zda je voličské chování obou skupin odlišné, nebo v něm lze nalézt nějak společné vzorce.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to analyze the political participation and electoral behavior of young people in elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2017 in the Ústí Region. In the first part of the thesis we will focus on identifying factors influencing voters' electoral behavior after 1989 with a closer focus on the development of political participation of young voters and their subsequent political orientation. In the methodological part, the method of creating a questionnaire and the method of data collection, including sampling, will be presented. In the analytical part, the thesis will focus on the analysis of electoral behavior in the Ústí region in two different groups of voters, i.e. young voters (university students), compared to the age-old cohort of voters in order to answer the question whether the electoral behavior of the two groups is different, or some common formulas can be found in it.
