Comparison of semi- and distributed rainfall-runoff models

Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo vystavět a mezi sebou porovnat dva typy srážko-odtokových modelů a to semi-distribuovaný model HEC-HMS a distribuovaný model HEC-HMS. Pro práci bylo zvoleno povodí řeky Lubiny. Sestavené modely v rámci tohoto povodí byly pak vystaveny reálné srážkové epizodě z června roku 2009 a jejich výsledné hydrogramy byly následně srovnávány. V úvodní části je krátce charakterizován srážko-odtokový proces a stručný popis základních typů hydrologických modelů. Rovněž je zde popsáno modelové povodí a vstupní data pro oba typy modelů. Hlavní část práce je věnována výstavbě obou typů modelů, kde je zahrnut proces od schematizace povodí až po výsledné simulace modelů HEC-HMS. V praktické části práce jsou zahrnuty i problémy, které se vyskytovaly při procesu výstavby a možnosti jejich řešení. V posledních kapitolách jsou graficky vyhodnoceny výsledné simulace a nechybí kalibrace modelů a statistické vyhodnocení přesnosti modelů. Poslední kapitola je věnována diskusi, která se zabývá zhodnocením výsledků ve snaze porovnat tyto výsledky s jinými publikacemi.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to build and to compare two types of rainfall-runoff models ? distributed model HEC-HMS and gridded model HEC-HMS. There was chosen a catchment area of the river Lubina in this thesis. The assembled models within this watershed were exposed to real rainfall episode from June 2009 and after that the resulting hydrographs were compared. In the first part is briefly described the rainfall-runoff process and the short specification of basic types of hydrologic models. There is also described the model basin and the input data for both models. The main part is deals with the construcion of both types of models including the process of schematization of the watershed to the final simulation model HEC-HMS. In the practical part are also included problems which were occured during the construction process and possibilities of their solution. In the last chapters are evaluated graphically final simulations and there are also calibration models and statistical evaluations of the model accuracy. The last chapter deals with a discussion which is focused the evaluation of the results in order to compare these reslults with other publications.
