Attitudes of people with eating disorders to support possitive emotions and engagement in a treatment

Abstract:

Má diplomová práce zkoumá postoje dívek s poruchami příjmu potravy k vybraným složkám konceptu PERMA, a to pozitivním emocím a angažovanosti. Zaměřuje se na jednotlivé složky postoje, a to jak dívky vnímají, prožívají a reagují na posilování pozitivních emocí a angažovanosti v léčbě. V teoretické části popisuji jednotlivé složky konceptu PERMA, kde se zaměřuji zejména mnou vybrané složky. Dále zmiňuji problematiku poruch příjmu potravy v adolescenci, jednotlivé terapeutické směry využívající se při práci s poruchami příjmu potravy a postoje jako nejdůležitější kapitolu mé diplomové práce. V metodologické části zdůvodňuji vybranou kvalitativní výzkumnou strategii. Výzkum jsem realizovala pomocí rozhovoru s 12 respondentkami, které absolvovaly léčbu. Získaná data jsou interpretována pomocí otevřeného a axiálního kódování. V závěru práce je podrobně zodpovězena hlavní výzkumná otázka a uvádím dále i doporučení pro praxi a další výzkumy.

Abstract:

My thesis examines the attitudes of girls with eating disorders to selected folders of Seligmans concept PERMA positive emotions and engagement. Thesis focuses on the individual components of attitudes. I want to know how girls perceive, experience and respond to the strengthening of positive emotion and engagement in treatment. The theoretical part describes the different components of the Seligman´s concept, where I focus on my particular folder. In the next chapter I mention the problems of eating disorders in adolescence, therapeutic approaches using when working with eating disorders and attitudes as the most important chapter of my thesis . The methodology section describes the qualitative research strategy, which I have chosen for my research purpose. The research was realized through interviews with 12 female respondents who completed the treatment. The data are interpreted using open and axial coding. At the conclusion of the thesis there is detailed answer to the main research question and followed by the recommendations for practice and further research.
