Abstract:

Disertační práce se věnuje problematice vzájemných vztahů mezi morfologickým stavem malých vodních toků, ekologickým stavem okolní krajiny a mírou antropogenního tlaku na sledované ekosystémy. Uvedené interakce jsou analyzovány v prostředí odlišném z hlediska převažujících přírodních podmínek a charakteru i intenzity lidských aktivit v krajině. Variabilita vstupních podmínek je zajištěna výběrem zájmových území, v podobě sedmi povodí malých až středně velkých vodních toků na území České republiky. Jelikož intenzita sledovaných vztahů mezi vodními toky a okolní krajinou s rostoucí vzdáleností od vodních útvarů výrazně klesá, stěžejní lokalitu představuje především území podél hydrografické sítě, jehož existence je podmíněna právě přítomností vodního toku. Toto specifické území v zázemí malého vodního toku je označováno jako „potoční krajina“. Kvalita nastíněných vztahů je vnímána jako klíčový předpoklad pro efektivní plnění funkcí a služeb, jež ekosystémy malých toků poskytují lidské společnosti. Pro potřeby vyhodnocení morfologického stavu říční sítě a ekologického stavu potoční krajiny jsou aplikovány existující metodiky i vlastní postup k identifikaci míry omezení velikosti průtočného profilu koryta. Stupeň narušení přirozených vlastností potoční krajiny a celých zájmových povodí je kromě vybraných ekologických indikátorů hodnocen rovněž pomocí analýzy finančních hodnot jednotlivých biotopů. K identifikaci klíčových vazeb mezi jednotlivými složkami analyzovaných ekosystémů je aplikován metodologický rámec DPSIR, využívající jak informace z realizovaných průzkumů zájmových území, tak i další dostupná data, související se sledovanými jevy a interakcemi. Na základě zjištěného současného stavu potočních krajin a míry či charakteru ovlivnění studovaných vazeb byl následně vyjádřen také potenciál pro zvýšení kvality plnění základních funkcí těchto ekosystémů. Přínos této práce spočívá tedy především v rozvoji poznatků, týkajících se principů fungování vzájemných interakcí mezi malými vodními toky a územím v jejich blízkém okolí, utvářených odlišnými podmínkami, pod vlivem probíhající environmentální změny. Jelikož výsledky práce potvrdily existenci přímé souvislosti mezi mírou degradace potočních krajin a rozsahem a kvalitou funkcí, poskytovaných danými ekosystémy, lze uvedené poznatky využít zvláště v oblasti ochrany přírody a krajiny či územního plánování. Znalost uvedených principů je důležitým předpokladem efektivního a environmentálně přínosného managementu vodních toků a krajiny v jejich zázemí, uplatnitelného zejména v rámci plánování opatření ke snížení míry rizik pro lidskou společnost a zlepšení kvality životního prostředí.

Abstract:

This dissertation deals with the issue of mutual relations between morphological state of small streams, ecological status of surrounding landscape and the degree of anthropogenic pressure on the observed ecosystems. The mentioned interactions are analysed in an environment different in terms of the prevailing natural conditions and the character and intensity of human activities in the landscape. The variability of input conditions is ensured by selecting the areas of interest, in the form of seven small to medium-sized watercourse catchments located in the Czech Republic. Since the intensity of observed relationships between the watercourses and surrounding landscape decline significantly with increasing distance from the water bodies, especially an area along the hydrographic network, whose existence is conditioned by the presence of a stream, represents the core location. This specific area around the small stream is referred to as “stream landscape”. The quality of the outlined relationships is seen as a key precondition for the effective performance of the functions and services that these small stream ecosystems can provide to human society. For purposes of evaluating the morphological status of the river network and environmental conditions of the stream landscapes, the existing methodologies and own process to identify the anthropogenic limitation of the channel flow area are applied. Besides the selected environmental indicators, the degree of disruption of the natural properties of stream landscapes and entire catchment of interest is also evaluated using an analysis of financial value of each habitat. To identify the key linkages between various components of the analysed ecosystems is applied the “DPSIR” methodological framework, utilizing both the information from field surveys and other available data associated with observed phenomena and interactions. Based on observed current state of the stream landscapes and the extent or character of the studied relationships, the potential for improving the quality of the basic functions of these ecosystems was subsequently also expressed. Therefore the benefit of this work is primarily in the development of knowledge concerning the principles of functioning of interactions between small streams and areas in their surroundings, shaped by different conditions under the influence of ongoing environmental change. Because the results of the work confirmed the existence of a direct link between the degree of degradation of the stream landscapes and the quantity and quality of functions provided by the given ecosystem, the acquired findings can be used especially in the area of nature and landscape protection and land use planning. The knowledge of the above principles is an important prerequisite for effective and environmentally beneficial management of watercourses and landscapes in their surroundings, applicable especially in the context of planning the measures to reduce the level of risk for human society as well as the improvement of environmental quality.
